Eastwood Harris teaches students to plan projects using the software and not just how to use the menus.
The SureTrak and Microsoft training is delivered in two one day sessions and the P3, P5 and P6 in three one day sessions. The courses ideally should be run with 4 to 6 students, with a recommended maximum of 8.
By the end of the first day the students will gain sufficient skills to create, status and print a project using the software without resources or costs. The first day may be sufficient for casual users to create a schedule or gain an understanding of the software functionality.
At the end of the second day the student will gain skills necessary to understand the resources and costs features of the software.
The third day of the P3, P5 and P6 course covers the advanced features of the software including administration.
Tailoring the Training Material to Suit Your Organisation
It is suggested that "Standard Project Templates and Scheduling Procedures" could be written to suit your company's method of working. These templates and procedures would be acknowledged in the course and the student exercises would be examples from your current projects. The course would therefore be more relevant to the students than standard software vendor exercises. In addition we could develop a method of transferring data from and to your other project management systems .
These process could be documented and included in a tailored version of the appropriate manual. Therefore the training manual could be edited to suit your organisation and could include your methodology and become a training and procedure manual. |
